Owner/Instructor
Miss Jillian DuHadway has been the owner of DuHadway Dance Dimensions since 1992. Miss Jillian’s dance training began at the age of three when her mother decided to enroll her in dance to help with shyness. After moving from Cleveland to the U.P. of Michigan, she traveled to Canada several days a week to continue lessons at the Trixie Hardy Studio in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. There she became associated with the British Assoc. of Teachers of Dance. While training with Miss Hardy she earned high marks on her teachers exams in both tap and jazz and was awarded teaching certificates. She also attained honors marks in ballet exams with the B.A.T.D. Jillian began competing with her home studio at the age of 12 where she was awarded first place finishes with solos and groups.
Miss Jillian earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Central Michigan University. While at CMU she was introduced to the Cecchetti Method of Ballet by Linda Lee Abbott. She taught dance for Linda Lee for three years while completing her teaching degree. After graduation she returned and purchased the studio, working closely with Linda Lee to maintain consistency for the 120 students in attendance at that time. While determined to rebuild a studio that had once thrived with over 350 students, she trained to earn her Grade 5 professional teacher certification and maintained membership with the West Michigan Chapter of the Cecchetti Council. She served as Committee Chairperson for a two year term and is currently the Committee Treasurer. Each year she trains her students in the tradition of Enrico Cecchetti and sends them for examinations in the method. In addition, Miss Jillian directs the DDD Elite competitive dance team which she founded in 2000. The team currently consists of 62 members age 7-18. Past teams have earned high awards at both regional and nationals levels. Miss Jillian has trained at Steps on Broadway, the Broadway Dance Center and with professional instructors such as Mia Michaels, Mike Minery, Lane Alexander, Lou Conte and Joel Hall.
DuHadway Dance Dimensions was featured in an article in Dance Teacher magazine. Jillian and her husband, Rob, work together closely to maintain their mission of “fun with a purpose” in their new 8000 square foot dance facility, which opened it’s doors in the fall of 2005. Jillian enjoys teaching children of all ages and is very proud to instruct her own children, Charlie and Madeline.

Mr. Rob, as he is referred to in the studio, has been teaching children of all ages for many years. An All American High School Swimmer he served as a lifeguard, swim coach, and swim instructor while swimming pool manager at a Grand Rapids Country Club.
After marrying, Rob and Jillian decided it was best to interrupt Rob’s CMU education to build the studio. He was able to return to CMU completing his degree in 2000. While working to build the studio Rob also served as the assistant swim coach at Alma College for five seasons, taught swim lessons for the Lucky Duck swim program, and assisted with the Lucky Duck intensive summer camp for swimmers ages ten and up. In addition to the many hats he wears at the studio and his job as full time dad, he started assisting Miss Jillian with morning classes for their daughter Maddy and her preschool friends. That led him to teaching his own classes. This season he teaches 5 classes each week including an all boys rhythm development class and still assists Jillian with the morning classes.

Dancing at DuHadway Dance Dimensions has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I have been dancing since age four, spending most of my dance years right here at DuHadway Dance. As a student here I have had the tremendous opportunity to grow and excel, eventually becoming advanced enough to compete as a part of the DDD Elite team. While still dancing as a student, I also became an instructor at DuHadway Dance Dimensions. Since 2001 I have taught all levels of tap, jazz, and ballet; finding my favorites to be both lyrical and jazz. I currently attend Central Michigan University where I dance and choreograph for the Orchesis Dance Company. Over the years I have had the awesome opportunity to dance with many master instructors while attending dance conventions and camps. I love to dance!

I entered into the world of dance when I was seven years old. When I was eight, I started dancing at DuHadway Dance Dimensions. This is where I studied ballet until I graduated from high school. I have a passion for ballet and it is the only form of dance I studied through out my years at the studio. When I was in sixth grade, I auditioned for the Alma College Dance Company's production of the Nutcracker and was accepted as a party child. I auditioned for the Nutcracker again in 8th grade and was given the role of a fairy. When I was a junior in high school, the Company invited me back to fill the role of a Flower in The Waltz of the Flowers in the Nutcracker. The following spring I was once again invited to participate with the company in their production of the ballet called La Bayadere. Throughout my years at DuHadway's, I was involved in being an assistant for many wonderful ballet classes until I graduated. The year after I graduated, I worked at the studio as an assistant and a substitute. I have also been blessed with the opportunity to start and lead a worship dance team at Cornerstone University. We performed several times in many shows with my original choreography.

Ricky Clarkson or simply “Bird” has had dance in his blood almost as long as he’s been alive. His mother showed him how to wave and make street dance poses and stances when he turned 3. His jump into the performing dance world was super early at the age of 6 in a spin off version of the contest Star Search at a local auditorium in Washington D.C. He placed 2nd and lost his interest in dance. Basketball consumed Bird’s life for 18yrs but after reaching the collegiate level he hung up the Jersey and decided DANCE was the start of his life and how he wanted to live it from here on out. Since that decision, he started off interning and then performing and traveling with the Hip Hop Dance Company (Chosen) out of Philadelphia doing shows at High Schools and Theatres. He’s also performed in many events such as the 25th Anniversary for the City Newspaper for the Mayor of Philly and New York. While living in Philadelphia and commuting on a 30min train ride to New York he was blessed to receive hourly classes and even assist 5-10min jam sessions at the Ailey Extension from Kevin Maher, Theresa Espinoza, Flo Master, and Mr. Wiggles
He received his Bachelors of Science at Alma College in Psychology where he now teaches a Technique class. In Fall of 2009 he will be teaching an Academic Class for Central Michigan University, along with working on DDD Staff.
He has worked with the Mt. Pleasant High School Cheerleaders, Midland Dow Dance Team, Walled Lake Western Cheerleaders, Lansing DeWitt Dance Team and Champion Cheer Camp!
